Michigan Weddings-Vintage meets Art Deco-Just Lovely!

Thanks so much to the lovely mother and beautiful bride that  let us be a part of the so perfectly thought out vintage/art deco inspired wedding!  I'll try to set the scene for you, but the professional pictures will truly capture the ambiance!  The evening ceremony took place at the MSU Alumni Chapel on Michigan State University, first and foremost because the bride and groom are alumnus of this fine college, but also because it is a lovely old chapel.  Simple blue hydrangeas tied with an eggplant sash adorned the pews, while a large mercury vase housed pale blue and antique purple hydrangeas, lavender lisianthus, purple scabiosa, cream and white roses, lavender and white stock, and tall plumes of peacock feathers.  The maids wore an eggplant, mermaid style dress, with tiny capped straps and an open back, each wearing a peacock feather in their hair, truly vintage!  They each carried a bouquet of pale blue hydrangea, roses, and peacock feathers.  The perfectly dressed bride, wore a ivory satin gown, with a sweetheart neckline, and crystal and rhinestone detailing at the neckline, waistline, and the most out-of-this-world gorgeous sapphire and diamond jewelry.  To top it off, she wore a miniature birdcage veil with an ivory feather fascinator.  She carried a bouquet of purple hydrangea, cream roses, and deep purple calla lilies, she could have walked straight out of the 1920s.  The fabulous reception was held at Walnut Hills Country Club, the food was delicious, and the staff was so easy and friendly to work with.  The vintage styled cake was done by  A Piece 'O Cake, and the dessert bar of cookies and pies was baked by the Sugar Shack.  Purple uplighting set the ambiance for the guests as they walked into a room filled with round tables adorned with navy blue pintuck linens, silver chiavari chairs and silver chargers by the Chiavari Chair Company, pintuck napkins with the bride's handmade napkin rings of glimmering beads and peacock feathers, sparkling table numbers, and low and tall floral arrangements in vintage pedestal bowls, and candelabras.  Each arrangement consisted of pale blue and purple hydrangeas, cream garden roses, dusty miller, purple scabiosa, lavender stock and lisianthus, and not to miss a beat, pale purple, pale blue, and cream feathers!  And to top it off, Sparty made a guest appearance as well!  Please enjoy the pics below, courtesy of myself, hee, hee!  Can't wait to post the professional pictures by Dan Johnson Photography, and the video by Deep End Films.

Michigan Weddings-Lansing

Lansing is back!  If you want an an easy yet urban wedding, you've got to try the heart of Lansing!  This too cute for words couple married right downtown near the capitol where all the venues were in easy walking distance from each other.  The very accommodating and delicious Troppo hosted the reception, and the Radisson Hotel provided guest accommodations and day after food service.  We provided coordinating, floral, and linens, and Jen Orr provided the photography.  The ceremony was a lovely mix of cultures and the color palette of green and white was a fresh and beautiful complement to this perfect day!

Destination Michigan Weddings-Bay Harbor

We just got home from a gorgeous wedding in Bay Harbor!  The weather could not have been more perfect, and the bride and groom were so sweet.  We trekked the 3 hour drive up to the beautiful Village Hotel at Bay Harbor, where we coordinated and provided floral and linens for a tented reception and wedding on the beach.  The color palette consisted of various shades of pink, white, and green.  The intimate ceremony and reception was for 63 with three large centerpieces of roses, bear grass, and dendrobiums atop a vase filled with pristine beach sand, and seashells, and 4 medium sized centerpieces of calla lilies accented with pink and green floating blooms all nestled on a pale green overlay. The delicious food was provided by the Galley Gourmet, and the pictures were taken by Miss Ann Photography.

Michigan Weddings-Bay City

We've had a whirlwind of weddings all over the state of Michigan this summer, and how different each one of them is!  As usual, we are waiting for the professional pictures by all of the very talented photographers out there, but here are a few from our Bay City Wedding, at the Doubletree Hotel.  The bride wanted dendrobium orchids in her centerpieces, and the groom's favorite flower is lilies, the color palette we got to work with consisted of navy blue, peach, and ivory.  The bride chose a mixture of tall and low centerpieces atop a navy blue pintuck linen, so we created arrangements of white and pale blue hydrangea, peach and ivory garden roses, white and peach lilies, peach spray roses, and dendrobium orchids.
