Michigan Weddings-White Bouquets
I am always browsing the web for inspiration, I think as florists and event planners you have to constantly do this to stay current in todays technology driven world:) I found a beautiful bouquet constructed by Pink Blossom Tree out of Australia. I love how they used cymbidium and dendrobium orchids, such a modern bloom, with hyacinth, roses, and dusty miller, very country/gardensesque, to make such a gorgeous bouquet in white and the smallest accents of grays and pinks.

Grand Rapids Florist-White by Vera Wang at David’s Bridal
I love the below bridesmaid dress by Vera Wang at David's Bridal. Although this color, willow, is my favorite, it does come in a variety of colors such as amethyst, charcoal, champagne, extc. This bridesmaid is carrying a petitie bouquet of callas. Which do work well, but I would also recommend carrying other modern blooms as well.

I'm in love with the below bouquets from the photo gallery at weddingstylemagazine.com, a Grace Ormonde website. These blooms totally work because they are very modern.

Grand Rapids Florists-White by Vera Wang at David’s Bridal
Vera Wang has an obviously beautiful and unique line of wedding and bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal. Some of these dresses are adorned with horsehair sashes, lace illusion pieces, and muted tone fabric different than the typical white and ivory wedding dresses. The below dress in particular has a giant removable black horsehair bow that completes the very detailed look. So what type of bouquet should you carry with such a complex dress?

SIMPLE, SMALL, AND WHITE arrangements look best. Hydrangea or calla lillies are my favorite. You don't want to use a small intricate flower either, nix the stephanotis or baby's breath, for that will make the already detailed dress too distracting. Finish the bouquet with plain white or ivory satin ribbon, and you have a bouquet that complements the dress instead of complicates it!

Michigan Weddings-Pink Bouquets
We had the pleasure of creating and designing some companion pieces this week for a client. I call them companion pieces because we constructed a bouquet and a corsage to compliment each other. Completely different styles, but in the pink color palatte.
The first picture is my favorite! A gorgeous bouquet of pink garden roses and pink ranunculus tied with a limey green satin ribbon and pearl pushpins. The companion piece is a pink ranunculus accented with dusty miller. Vintage whimsy at it's best!

The second picture is definitely on the magical whimsy side, less uniformed than the first. We used white hydrangea, pale pink almost peach spray roses, pink ranunculus, and accents of limonium wrapped in white satin ribbon adorned with eclectically placed rhinestones. The companion piece is a rhinestone bracelet corsage of the spray roses and limonium.

The last arrangement we call city chic. A very simple but striking arrangement of pink wax flower wrapped in a black braided sequin ribbon. The companion piece is a tightly wrapped corsage of pink wax flower detailed with black and pearl pushpins.

Floral ball centerpieces are all the rage, especially on top of a tall vase.

Vintage, romantic, and whimsy. Think different sized vases of flowers in different textures too!

Lastly, potted herbs, succulents, or terrariums are still going strong!
