Spring Tulips

Tulips are beautiful and plentiful in April.  They are happy, and easy to work with for centerpieces and bouquets, and a perfect way to welcome Spring!  We had the recent opportunity to coordinate Egypt Valley Country Club's Wine Dinner, we chose a formal color palette of black and white, with pops of color coming from yellow tulips.  When we visited Penny Waltman's linen store, Special Occasions, we knew exactly what we wanted to use, her black and white damask print overlays.  We placed them atop black floor length tablecloths, and brought in black chairs to make the look cohesive.  We accented with black napkins and used black and white damask print escort cards which tied everything together.  The centerpieces were multiple cylinder vases with that pop of yellow coming from the tulips and then to really bring in the formal feel, we added additional cylinder vases filled with pillar candles, and set out tons of tea lights.  Simple, formal, and completely Spring!
